Take a close look at Sea Creatures at the Sumida Aquarium
An urban aquarium equipped with learning functions in addition to exhibitions and attractions about marine life. You will see fish tanks recreating the sea off Ogasawara Islands, a World Heritage Site, and ones from where you can view penguins and seals up close.
Stroll Through the Starry Skies in the Exciting “Tenku” Planetarium
With the concept of “Fully Enjoying the Starry Skies,” this new way of Planetarium brings together videos, music as well as aromas. In this healing atmosphere, a variety of programs are presented multiple times a day, including highly-realistic starry skies and dynamic computer graphics.
Children will Enjoy Tokyo Skytree® from the Water Bus
The Asakusa-Odaiba Cruise is extremely convenient as a means of transportation to sightsee Ryogoku and Asakusa areas. The water level is lower than ground level, so you could also enjoy the Tokyo Skytree® from a different perspective. Be sure to step out from the cabin onto the deck to feel the pleasant breeze and appreciate the townscape of Shitamachi old town.

The Sumida Hokusai Museum
An art museum introducing the works of Katsushika Hokusai and his students. Katsushika Hokusai is a world-renowned ukiyo-e artist, particularly famous for Mount Fuji paintings. The artworks in the museum are mainly collected by the Sumida City, the Peter Morse collection, the Muneshige Narazaki collection, but there are also other works and archival materials received from distinguished researchers.
Ryogoku Sumo Hall
The Ryogoku Sumo Hall is the venue of many famous bouts. It is also a multipurpose hall holding concerts and exhibitions.
Senso-ji Temple
Dedicated to Kannon Bosatsu (Kannon Bodhisattva), it's the oldest temple in Tokyo. The main sightseeing spots are the Kaminari-mon Gate famous for its large paper lanterns, the Nakamise Shopping street that connects Kaminari-mon Gate to Senso-ji Temple and the Niten-mon Gate containing important cultural properties.
Sumida Edo Kiriko Museum
This is a workshop designated by Sumida City. It is a place where you can experience traditional “Edo Kiriko” glass cutting conducted by a long-established 100-year old glass craft company. Permanently on exhibit, and also on sale, are approximately 350 items, including original designs related to Tokyo Skytree®. You can also try your hand at traditional glass cutting to create your own original piece of glass art. (Reservations required.)
